Laureaci Nagrody Dziedzictwa im. Kongresmena Klemensa Zabłockiego na rok 2012

Zarząd i Rada Dyrektorów Kongresu Polonii Amerykańskiej w Wisconsin z przyjemnością pragnie poinformować,iż wyłoniono pięciu laureatów Nagrody Dziedzictwa im. Kongresmena Klemensa Zabłockiego na rok 2012.Tegorocznymi laureatami są:
1. Muzeum Polskie w Chicago- obchodzące w tym roku 75 lecie istnienia,
2. Gwiazda Polarna- 100-letnia najstarsza gazeta polskojęzyczna z Wisconsin,
3. Ewa Barczyk-Pease- dyrektor Biblioteki im.Goldy Meir przy UWM i prezes Klubu Polanki,
4. Jadwiga Rabiega- wieloletnia aktywistka polskiego środowiska w Milwaukee,
5. Anna Pienkos –również znana aktywistka polskiego środowiska w Milwaukee.
Nagrody Dziedzictwa im.Kongresmena Klemensa Zabłockiego(Congressman Clement Zablocki Civic Achievement Award) przyznawane są przez Kongres Polonii Amerykańskiej w Wisconsin od 1995 roku a jej inicjatorem jest prof.Donald Pienkos. Nagrody te otrzymali między innymi: płk. Edmund Banasikowski, Ada Dziewanowska,prof.Marian K. Dziewanowski,sędzia Michael Skwierawski,płk. Antoni Rogozinski i Bianca Rogozinska, Wesley Adamczyk, Mayor Thomas Barrett, Quad Graphics, Douglas Jacobson, Dr.Angela Pienkos, Biskup William Callahan,Dr. Neal Pease, Nina Nowakowski, Lt Col Ernest Litynski,Polish Heritage Society of NE Wisconsin i Klub Sportowy Polonia.
Uroczystość wręczenia nagród odbędzie się w rocznicę Święta Niepodległości 11 listopada 2012 w Polskim Centrum w Wisconsin.

We had over 340 people from Milwaukee, Green Bay, Stevens Point, Madison and others places. Milwaukee was the 4th city that 1920 was shown.Thank you to UWM’s Center for International Education, Institute of World Affairs, Polish Studies Committee, History Department and others. Milwaukee Premiere of “1920″ on March 5th at 7 pm at the UWM Union Theater

The Wisconsin Polish American Congress would like to invite you to the Milwaukee Premiere of “1920″ on March 5th at 7 pm at the UWM Union Theater

“1920. THE WORLD’S MOST IMPORTANT BATTLE” is a Polish mega-production about one of the world’s most important battles which saved Europe from a global communist revolution.

The film focuses on the 1920 clash between powerful Red Army and soldiers of newly reborn Poland resulted in a repulsion of Bolsheviks from the gates of Warsaw. The heroic effort of Poles led by Marshal Józef Piłsudski defeated Soviets in the battle which shattered Lenin’s dreams of conquering all Continent and introducing communism to the world.

It is a picturesque epic story of love in the time of war with a very simple plot, in which fictional characters intertwine with great historical figures: Pilsudski, Petlura, Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky. The action reflects a participation of daring American pilots from the Kosciuszko Squadron as well as an important role of the Ukrainian troops
