The gathering set for West Allis is simply shameful

The Wisconsin State Division of the Polish American Congress regards a gathering in West Allis, Wisconsin organized by neo-Nazis to be most regrettable.

It is truly ironic that this group is holding its meeting on September 3, the anniversary of the start of the Second World War.

On September 1, 1939 Nazi Germany attacked Poland without warning or justification. Ultimately, perhaps seven million citizens of Poland, over 20 percent opf its population, perished in the inferno that was World War II.

On September 3, 1939 Britain and France, at last honored their treaty commitments to their Polish ally and declared War on Germany. That date, September 3, has since been regarded as the beginning of World War II, which ended in 1945.

Thousands of residents of Milwaukee and Wisconsin have someone who lost his or her life in World
War II – either in combat, or as a victim of the conflict in Europe or Asia. This conflict was caused by Nazi Germany.

It is even sadder that the Milwaukee media does not point out the fact that in World War II Nazi Germany was responsible for starting a conflict that resulted in the deaths of more than SIXTY MILLION people, most of them non-combatants.

The gathering set for West Allis is simply shameful.
